While the European Union (EU) may appear primarily as an economic union, it is, in reality, a union of civilizations. Particularly in Turkey today, it symbolizes progress, development, and modern life. When countries join the EU, they bring their histories and cultures, turning it into a melting pot of diverse backgrounds. Reflecting on the War of Independence holds significance not only in the history of the Republic of Turkey but also in European history. The yearning for independence and, more crucially, the right to independence, which is at the core of this war, should be remembered.

As human beings, it is our duty to carry the values of the past into the future. The initial three steps of the Republic of Turkey should be eternally remembered, and their fundamental ideas should be passed down to future generations. The struggles for independence and freedom in Amasya, Sivas, and Erzurum need to be studied and internalized. In a genuine civilization, there is no place for war.

The Amasya Declaration

The integrity of our country and the independence of our nation are under threat. The government in Istanbul is unable to fulfill its duties, creating an impression that our nation has vanished.

The restoration of the nation’s independence lies in the determination and decisiveness of the people. Establishing a national council, free from any influence or inspection, is crucial to assessing the state and behavior of the nation and advocating its rights globally. A national congregation in Sivas is urgently called for Amasya Erzurum Sivas , being the safest place in Anatolia in many aspects. To achieve this, it is imperative for three delegates, trusted by the people, to depart immediately from all provinces of each city. For security reasons, this mission should remain a national secret, with delegates concealing their identities when reaching the necessary places.

For the congress of eastern cities, scheduled to convene on July 10th in Erzurum, members of the associations “Defending National Rights” and “Rejecting Occupation” have already set out for Erzurum. Representatives from other cities will have moved to Sivas by that time, prompting members of the Erzurum Congress to depart for Sivas within the specified time frame. Military and civilian organizations will not be abolished under any circumstances, and command will not be abandoned or transferred private tours bulgaria varna. The enemy’s occupation of any part of the motherland concerns the entire army, and the homeland will be defended accordingly. Commanders must promptly inform each other of any developments, and no weapons or war equipment are to be discarded.
